As a member of the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, we wanted to give back to the community. Our gift was to give Fuquay Mineral Springs Park a new life. The family of experts at Southern Landscape Professionals donated hundreds of hours of time to transform the park into a colorful garden of flowers, plants and new grass. The gift symbolizes how proud we as a company and our employees are to be part of the community. The project is valued at about $25,000. A total of 350 man-hours was donated as part of this undertaking... with 122 of those man-hours dedicated directly to the landscaping. We started with conceptual drawings showing where and what types of historical plants were to be used. The new look includes 7,000 bricks laid in a curved walkway to the spring house along with 300 day-lilies, 100 shrubs, and 4,500 square feet of sod. Maintenance of the park includes weed control and fertilizer. Owner Bill Adams was assisted in the project by Mark Sanborn, landscape designer; John Miller, landscape crew foreman; and Brian Brown, maintenance division supervisor. We feel very fortunate to have employees who share our family business values and commitment to our community.
